Positive: From the moment we arrived, I know Villa Blanka was a special place. Blanka is a wonderful host and the house and property is amazing! I would love to come back and just relax at the property.

Negative: It is quite a drive up, but good parking.

Positive: Location was absolutely amazing, The host was lovely. We are 5, 20 year olds and Blanka had no hesitation in giving us recommendations, sorting out any issues out, even offering to drive to pick up an item from a pharmacy. It’s the little things. But seriously, Blanka and the property is worth every penny. Blanka cleaned the pool midway through the property, but also was great that we didn’t see Blanka which made us all feel comfortable. As soon as you needed Blanka, she was there. Thankyou for a lovely stay!

Positive: The time at Villa Blanka was absolutely wonderful! First of all, you barely find a host like Blanka herself, warm hearted, welcoming and caretaking. We felt more like with family than being on a rent. Which is also supported by the atmosphere of the house, that has been fantasically renovetad by Blanka and her family. On different levels you find 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and in the basement a kitchen open to the diner and living room. All decorated with antiques and family memorabilia. Oh, and very clean! By the location at high elevation and at the end of the road you will also feel very close to nature and the fresh breeze in the leaves shading the place is the only noise you hear. Our morning routine to start the day became a swim in the pool that provides enough space for some nice turns. After that we enjoyed our morning coffee at the front terrace, overlooking the valley and with the bay and islands on the horizon. You will find many places with stunning views but also a large shaded patio in the back with a long inviting dining table. The kitchen offers everything you need for traditional home cooking with a sturdy gas oven and two large fridges offer enough space to store your prey from the Split fish market and the wine that goes along with it. Mentioning Split, it took us usually 20min to downtown (be cautious of the speed control!). Larger supermarkets are half way. You need to know that the tail end of the road to Villa Blanka is not paved. Each normal car will do fine but a lowered sports car might strand. On that note, a beach is right down the road in Strobec, however, we preferred Kasjuni on the other side of Split because of the lovely bay and Beach Bar. Back to the facility, internet works very well on ground and first floor and the TV is up to date with HDMI access for your computer. If you have a dog, it is very pet friendly and fenced in, but your puppy has to face quite some steps (like yourself). In summary, if you are looking for a relaxed atm

Positive: Charming villa on the hillside with spectacular sea view in very quiet surroundings, away from the tourist areas, but still only a few kilometers from the sea. (To get there, though, you must be prepared to take a steep, narrow and winding road). Great outside areas and swimming pool. Blanka was the perfect host. She guided us from the main lane, gave us pleny of practical information and prepared a delicious barbecue for us.

Positive: Blanka, our host, was very sweet, attentive and helpful, we felt very well taken care of. She provided us with everything we could possibly need, and also recommended a lovely restaurant and a great butcher in the village (we have had the most amazing Croatian BBQ at the villa with his delicious meat). Her house has a lot of charm, it’s cosy and spacious, we loved all the little nooks. We particularly enjoyed the gardens that smell like rosemary and thyme, and the terrace with the amazing sea view. The kitchen is slightly outdated but clean and well equipped, with two big fridges in another room for beer storage. :) The location is great, in a quiet mountain area with nice walks among the olive trees, 20 minutes ride from Split city centre. Overall an unforgettable stay! Thank you Blanka!

Negative: Two small things that didn’t matter to us but that future travellers may want to know: - The wifi was a little weak, it didn’t work in the room upstairs, at the pool or on the back terrace. - The air conditioning works fine but the two rooms downstairs have to share one unit, which is placed in the small lounge area linking the rooms together. If you are with family and don’t mind sleeping with your bedroom’s door open to enjoy the air co it’s all good, but it does take away some privacy.
